The CEPT (CESL English Proficiency Test) assesses the English proficiency of students applying to both undergraduate and graduate programs at the University of Arizona. Assessing both English language production and comprehension, the CEPT Full Academic provides a valid and reliable test of overall English proficiency, and of student readiness to join and successfully complete University of Arizona programs.

The details of this test are as follows:

Format: This is a two-part test. Part 1 - Academic Skills - assesses Reading and Writing skills; it is taken on your own computer and is monitored by Examity, an online exam proctoring service. Part 2 - Communication Skills - assesses Speaking ability in the form of a live online interview.

Length: Computer test - up to 2 hours, Oral test - 15 minutes

Assessment: Student performance and overall proficiency is assessed using the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) Global Scale - the worldwide, industry standard for assessing language proficiency

Cost: US $ 40.00 (Testing Fees: All sales are final. The testing fee is not refundable, transferable, or deferrable.)
